Many people are surprised to learn that adoptions of children with HIV/AIDS are possible. A variety of agencies operating around the world facilitate adoptions of orphaned children with HIV.
Project HOPEFUL exists to educate, encourage, and enable families and individuals to advocate for and adopt children with HIV/AIDS. Our goal is to help others learn about HIV/AIDS and the needs of orphans with the virus. We are also here to equip families and individuals like yourself to adopt those kids. Project HOPEFUL is not an agency. We do not facilitate any adoptions, but are willing to walk with families, supporting them through their entire adoption process.
While Project HOPEFUL does not endorse any specific agency, we work with families, and often times the agency of their choice, to assist during the adoption process.

Until January of 2010 internationally adopted children who were HIV+ had to immigrate into the US through a different protocol than children without the virus. Since that time the process has been streamlined to allow children with HIV to immigrate through the same protocol as their peers without HIV.
Occasionally challenges may still arise which can threaten to delay the process for some children with HIV/AIDS. Project HOPEFUL is well versed in dealing with these challenges. We're here as another tool in the adoptive parent’s toolbox to help advocate for their adopted child and get them home in a timely manner. Project HOPEFUL has been instrumental in working with several governmental agencies as well as adoption agencies to help families immigrate and is available should you require our assistance.
The team at Project HOPEFUL is here to support you throughout your entire adoption journey. If you are struggling please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Our support is intended to reach beyond the process of just bringing your child home. We are here to help you as you build your new relationship with your adopted child. Project HOPEFUL would love to encourage you and help direct you to any resources your family may need. Send prayer requests and letters to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
